Meet our new resort manager

Wednesday, 5th December, 2018

Our new resort manager, Jo Vickers, has a long history with the French Alps going right back to her very first ski season when, at the age of 21, she worked as a housekeeper and chef in the chalets in Val d’Isere for two consecutive years.

For the past 20 years Jo has been working in the UK at a girls’ school teaching food and nutrition, giving her a deep understanding of the needs and inner workings of children and young people.

As a mother, meanwhile, she has that all important perspective from a parent and client view, knowing just how precious people’s children are. It all goes to make her the perfect person to be supporting our super nannies during their time in the Alps.

Val d’Isere has been a lifelong love of Jo’s for a long time. In fact, she and her husband have had an apartment here for around 20 years, making them fully fledged and established fans. They often coming here in the summer when it’s quieter to enjoy the beautiful weather and much greener Alpine countryside.

While Jo will be working for us in supporting the nannies, you’ll find her husband working at Oxygene as a ski fitter. They’ll be joined by their sons, Olly, 21 and Tom, 24 over the festive break for a family skiing Christmas.

It’s quite a change of lifestyle but Jo is totally up for it. As she so succinctly puts it: “We’re too young for slippers and Coronation Street”.
